Meet Our Newest Board Members

Shannon Acevedo

If you’ve been to a First Coast Opera production over the years, you may already know Shannon from the stage. She has been singing with the FCO chorus since 2017, and this year she’s taking on a new role with the organization as a member of our Board of Directors and Secretary.

Shannon recently launched SD Planning Solutions, a land planning and real estate development consulting firm focused on actionable, earth-positive projects that are sustainable over time.

A mezzo-soprano who loves music, the arts and all things natural, Shannon lives in St. Augustine Beach with her husband, Angel.

We’re grateful to have Shannon bringing her experience, enthusiasm and love of the arts to the board, as well as continuing to share her voice with us onstage!

Janice Wynn

Jan brings a background in leadership and service, along with a lifelong curiosity about people, places, and culture. She retired as a U.S. Navy Captain after nearly 30 years of service before moving with her husband, Santa Rick, to St. Augustine in 2023.

Since then, she has embraced the area’s arts and cultural community, occasionally cavorting with local pirate krewes along the way. Her love of music has led her to the North Florida Women’s Chorale where she is the newly-appointed President. At First Coast Opera, Jan looks forward to putting her people skills to work, building relationships with local businesses and helping bring people together in support of fundraising and special events.

Jan enjoys cruising, exploring museums with her North American Reciprocal Museum Association membership, and, each holiday season, playing Mrs. Claus alongside Rick.
